It’s now less than 2 days till the trade deadline, while there hasn’t been much happening this year as expected there is still some major names with many rumours surrounding them. While the franchise is just beginning a rebuilding project as the team’s record of 15-36 shows and team officials trying to create as much salary-cap flexibility as possible trading some assets are important to match these goals. One name mentioned the most all year long is J.J. Redick and a great target for any playoff team could use. So, if the Magic do trade Redick, they would try to acquire young players on rookie-scale contracts and draft picks which is what they clearly have said they want.
If the Magic are only looking for an expiring and a first-round pick in exchange for Redick, the Bucks look like great trade partners. They have two expiring contracts in the neighbourhood of Redick’s $6.1 million expiring contract in Beno Udrih or Samuel Dalembert and the Bucks have all of their first-round draft picks over the next few years.
G Richard Hamilton, SF Jimmy Butler and 2013 first-round draft pick for J.J. Redick. While I don’t like this trade much, we still get a first round pick the Bulls acquired and an upcoming young talent in Jimmy Butler and an expiring contract in Hamilton to clear the books.
PF Jeff Green, C Fab Melo and 2013 first-round draft pick for J.J. Redick. This trade has been in the market for a long time and a trade that would easily suit both teams. The mid to high first rounder and although he hasn’t played this year upcoming defensive machine in Fab Melo, and add in the talented Jeff Green who just looks out of place in Boston and this looks great for Orlando.
As per Espn.com Enes Kanter and 2013 first-Round Draft Pick for J.J. Redick and 2014 Second-Round Draft Pick The Utah Jazz have a very good problem. They are just too deep in the frontcourt, with Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors and Paul Millsap. While they have difficult decisions to make this offseason with Jefferson and Millsap hitting free agency, the Jazz could make the situation easier for themselves by moving Kanter for Redick. Orlando can then make their own Inside tandem in Kanter and double-double machine Vucevic for a very bright frontcourt future and add in the first round pick although will be mid to late another chance to add a great asset to the roster.
New York Knicks
Add in the recent rumours with 2nd year player Iman Shumpert for Redick although there has to be a 3rd team involved due to Shumperts low salary and match.
Hopefully Orlando make use of the valuable asset they have busting his nut for the team he loves and calls home, but he isn’t our future any of these trades would suit all over and allow us to make more trades or moves in the off season for the 2013-14 season.
